Trade Registration and Licensing Update

The Government has released staged timing for trade registration and licensing across a broader range of trades than first proposed.

Provisional registration will be available initially, with full criteria still under consultation. The staged rollout aims to avoid slowing building activity and allow time for implementation.

Trades will need either registration or a licence to work on site. Licensed trades must be employed and cannot operate independently.

HIA continues to work with Government to ensure a fair outcome and will keep members updated.
