How do I get the most out of a supplier open day?
Treat it like a business outing, not a free sausage and a look around. A few hours talking to the right suppliers can save you time and money on your next jobs. Come with a short list:
- Suppliers or ranges you already buy (or keep meaning to try)
- One cost problem on a current job you want a second opinion on
- Who from your office or site should walk the floor with you
Why do door specs matter on VIC residential jobs?
Feature entries and oversized internals are where residential jobs get judged at the front door. Specs change late, clients upgrade at the end, and site ends up scrambling.
On certain jobs, that scramble means delays, rework and a hit to cashflow. Locking door choices early saves it.
What does Mana Doors offer TAG members?
Mana Doors is a TAG supplier for VIC residential door solutions: custom timber, oversized and pivot doors.
Mana Doors (Pakenham) builds custom timber doors and frames for resellers and builders, including pivot systems when the design needs more than a standard leaf.
The practical side for members:
- Brief doors early: before you lock selections with clients.
- Member access: ordering and pricing through your TAG membership (check the portal for current details).
- Keep everyone on the same page: office, client and installer. Check with us before promising a client a hero entry date.

Small habits, clearer costs
Trade skill still matters. The builders who stay ahead also diary supplier days, lock door specs early, and treat Open Days as procurement time. Small habits. Clearer costs.
